Oreo is hitting the road! (I’ll drive, ha ha.) Her grandma passed away in December after a shockingly brief illness, so I’ve decided we’re going to see some sights before our times come, because we just never know when it’s going to happen.
Our new home on wheels is a 1971 Shasta Compact. Why so small? Because it’s what my Subaru can tow. Once Subie’s paid off I can upgrade to a new tow vehicle, but right now Rosie (the name I gave the Shasta) will have to do. I’m going to glam her up, of course, and Oreo will be able to get in and out with her portable ramp.
For security I’ll be posting our stops after we’ve left them, but I can tell you our first stop features some big, furry creatures Oreo will either love to romp with or be scared to death of. If her frenzied reaction to the Clydesdales at the Budweiser plant is any indication, we’re doomed…lol.
OH my DOG are you kidding me? We love it!!! Oreo hits the road!! YAAAY!!!! Promise us you will keep us updated on where you go. Where WILL you go by the way? As you know we are roadies ourselves and travel around the west. Will we see you out here?
P.S. I’m really sorry about grammy, what a shock that must have been. If anything good comes from such great loss, it’s that now you and Oreo are having this grand adventure. I’m guessing your granny is really proud.
Oh that’s right, I had forgotten about your traveling! I’m planning to head to the southwest for the winter. I’ll be going up the East Coast to visit family from now until August/September. Just want to catch a few football games before I head south. Of course, home base is still Tennessee, and any time we get tired of the road, we’ll put roots back down here.
P.S. It was Oreo’s grammy, my mom, actually. It was so quick, and so sad, and cancer sucks…a good day for me is when I don’t get sad thinking about her being gone until afternoon.
Oh duuuh I just read the part about posting your stops AFTER you’ve left. Of course! We do that too! But I’m going to bug you via email so we’ll keep it under wraps 😉
